Early History
Sotheby’s International Realty was founded in 1976 when the Auction House created a division to service the real estate needs of its distinguished clientele. But the brand’s history actually dates back to 1744 when the venerable Sotheby’s Auction House was founded. Having survived the First and Second World Wars as well as the French and American Revolutions, Sotheby’s is the oldest company on the New York Stock Exchange. It will survive the current economic cycle and is committed to establish its brands worldwide.
In 1998 Fuller Towne and Country Properties was established by Denver’s most experienced brokers. They joined forces and soon became the city’s most respected residential real estate firm. In 2008 Fuller Towne and Country Properties became affiliated with Sotheby’s International Realty. The core group of founding brokers is still actively selling real estate within the company today.
